By joining the biggest community of bird lovers in Australia, you can help us make a positive impact on the future of our native birdlife. The members of BirdLife Australia, along with our supporters and partners, have been powerful advocates for native birds and the conservation of their habitats since 1901.

We are also the meeting ground for everyone with an interest in birds from the curious backyard observer to the dedicated research scientist. It doesn’t matter what your interest in birds is or how much you know about them, your membership will offer you the opportunity to increase your awareness and enjoyment.

Birdlife Australia would be delighted to welcome you as a new member and we look forward to sharing our news and achievements with you throughout the coming year.

          Birds and Bikes

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the 2015 Birds and Bikes Fundraising Gala a great success!

BirdLife Australia would like to thank Phil Liggett for playing host to such an enjoyable evening. Whilst guests wined and dined they listened to anecdotes and stories about his incredible life—from his early years of cycling to covering the Tour De France and becoming ‘The Voice of Cycling’. The audience was also treated to tales of his other passion—birdwatching. Whether discussing his adoptive home of South Africa or a day trip to Werribee with Sean Dooley (Editor of Australian Birdlife magazine and emcee for the evening), Phil is passionate about bird conservation and guests marvelled at his personal slide show of birds spotted at his home in Kruger National Park, South Africa. Whether a birder or a cyclist everyone went away entertained.

BirdLife Australia would like to thank all the sponsors and partners who so generously supported our gala dinner - including RSM Bird Cameron, Aurora Expeditions, Integrated Mailing Services, JB Were, Jayco, Swarovski Optik, Orica-GreenEDGE, Fitzroy Cycles, O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat, Eureka 89, Ibis hotels, Bicycling Australia, Eureka Skydeck 88, Palace Cinemas,  Sovereign Hill, and Puffing Billy.
